How TOGAF Standard Version 9.2 differs from TOGAF Standard Version 9.1 TOGAF Standard, Version 9.2 is a great improvement on TOGAF Standard Version 9.1. The materials and flow in the latest release now has a more understandable, direct bearing on architecture practice and architecture consulting in general. As a result of this cleanup, the overall volume of the TOGAF documentation in the version 9.2 has been reduced to 532 pages from 692 pages in the previous version 9.1. Finally, it is declared that the new version of TOGAF puts more emphasis on business architecture. The second difference between TOGAF 9.2 and TOGAF 9.1 is that they’re starting to make some changes to the way that the business phases are handled and so right now in the TOGAF 9.1 standard you go into the architect’s revision phase and you come up with an architect’s revision, but you’re not really dealing with the business problems. The TOGAF Library is a reference library containing guidelines, templates, patterns, and other forms of reference material to accelerate the creation of new architectures for the enterprise. The TOGAF Standard Version 9.2 is an update to the TOGAF 9.1 standard providing improved guidance, correcting errors, improving the document structure, and removing obsolete content. Key enhancements made in this version include updates to the Business Architecture and the Content Metamodel.

TOGAF 9.2 is out and one can now become certified in it. A certification in 9.1 is still possible until November 2018. I strongly recommend to become certified in the new version, as a major change is that the content has reduced from 692 pages to “just” 532 pages, which makes studying easier.
